It can be difficult to trim the nails of dogs, especially in dogs that don’t hold stil or dogs that have pigmented nails where you can’t see the quick. What do can you do at home if you trim a nail too short and it bleeds?

Options include:

• Hold gentle pressure on the nail.
• Use flour or cornstarch on the end of the cut nail.
• You can place a cotton ball on the nail and place a soft bandage.
