How can I tell if my dog or cat has worms?
Some dogs or cats can have vomiting and/or diarrhea however a large number will be asymptomatic. On occasion, you may see spaghetti type worms in the stool (roundworms) or segments that can look like dried rice by the rectum (tape worms).
The best way to diagnosis worms is a fecal examination. Bring pet in your dog or cat for evaluation with a fecal sample in a small bag or container. It only takes about 20 minutes to perform this tests. All the common worms are easily treated. The medication used will depend on the worm.
